First ESHG Cancer interactive session 2026

We invite presenters, participants and the wider ESHG community to the first Cancer interactive session to be held during the hybrid 2026 ESHG conference in Gothenburg, Sweden!

This session (I09) will run at Monday June 15 08:30-10:00

Participants can email their cases in advance of the meeting until March 23, 2026 at 23:59 CEST to: eshgcancercase@lumc.nl

To be shortlisted for presentation, please submit a short abstract (max 200 words) describing either an interesting unsolved or educational solved case. Cases should be anonymized and consent to present the case obtained from the patient or family. All submissions will be reviewed by expert oncogeneticists and shortlisted for presentation by the chairs by Maartje Nielsen, Helen Hanson, Carla Oliveira, Karin Wadt and others.

We will prioritize cases

1. Common Oncogenetics cases/ families with unsolved diagnostic, surveillance, prevention or treatment questions;
2. New or recently discovered cancer syndromes
3. Cancer cases with informative/interesting tumor DNA result which have implications for treatment, prognosis, understanding underlying mechanistic oncogenetics
4. Cases from Low or Middle Income Countries
5. Cases of significant academic and/or educational value,

The submitters will be notified half till end of April 2026 through the email address provided during submission whether their case has been accepted for presentation in the interactive. Those that have been selected for presentation, during the Cancer interactive session, at ESHG 2026 will receive a Power Point template with the structure they need to follow to prepare their presentation.
